"Loved it!!!"

The surf lessons were truly incredible- our kids thoroughly enjoyed everyday and everyday they got better and better with the help of all the awesome instructors- each one helped with technique… made it super fun and yet very safe. The group we formed for that one week was perfect and we already miss everyone so much! We loved every minute of it and hope to get back next year!

"Really lovely place, with lovely people."

Marcos is really good at taking care of everything you need. He makes sure you feel comfortable, and likes to hang out besides the surfing. The other instructors is also super kind and helpful!
tThe location is lovely, because it is quiet during the night, compared to the rest of town. It was a little walk from the beach, but no problem because the surfboards got driven to the beach.

"Most wonderful people, place & lessons!"

I truly don’t have the words to describe just how incredible both my stay at the hostel and my time at the surf camp was, but I will try my very best! Everyone at the hostel made me feel at home from day one and my extended stay allowed me to get to know so many incredible people who came and went as well as THE MOST incredible team working to run the hostel and the camp! I had never surfed before coming to Costa Rica

"Everything was perfect."

The instructors were very good, I learned a lot and the surfing was so much fun. They paid a lot of attention to your safety in the water and gave you really good advice for surfing. Everyone who worked at la botella de leche was so caring. In the evening we did a lot of activities together. Overall the vibes were so nice I really recommend the surfcamp, everything was lovely, I won‘t forget it.

"Living the Pura vida chilled life in Tamarindo"

Surf camp – skilled surf instructors that really care about teaching their students the basic of surfing. They push you a lot as they believe in you!! Shout out to Kevin, Gero and Marcos. Hostel – I had a private room on the 2nd floor with an AC which is top notch. You can use the yoga space for your own gym or yoga workouts when there are no lessons.

"Incredible Hostel & Surf Camp"

We loved staying at the Botella De Leche Hostel and thought the surf camp was absolutely amazing! All the surf instructors, but especially Kevin, Gero, Jona, Fede, and Gustav, are incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and hospitable! They all really excel at teaching both the surfing basics and giving everyone personalized advice on how to keep continuing to get better throughout the week.

"Best Decision ever made"

I didn’t expect myself to be so attached to this place when I was booking the surf camp. The staff works so hard to create this vibrant and welcoming community to make sure you feel included the first day you get here. I got a single bed in a mixed dorm + 4 days of surfing class and there’s literally nothing to complain about.

"an amazing week spent in tamarindo !!"

if you’re looking into booking a surf camp, or even just a stay in tamarindo, i highly recommend choosing surfspirit / la botella de leche hostel. my brother and i spent 8 days here and had a great time. from the surf instructors to the hostel staff, you can expect nothing but kindness and welcoming energy. the hostel is clean and comfortable; the lessons are informative and thorough; the instructors are knowledgable and fun. 10/10 experience – would definitely return. – reanne & connor

Kevin, Gero, Jona, Marcos, and everyone else who stepped in to help were knowledgeable, kind, encouraging, patient and so much fun – they made us all feel comfortable from the very beginning but also pushed us to improve with each day we had with them. I am admittedly a slow learner when it comes to new sports, so multiple surf camps allowed me to gain confidence and really get the hang of some techniques, and the guys were more than supportive, encouraging, and helpful the whole way through. Thank you to everyone who made me feel at home, and a part of a family in Tamarindo – I miss you all already! If I have any suggestions for anyone looking to book this surf camp, they are; 1) Do it! And 2) Book the longer one because you will have a hard time leaving! I repeatedly witnessed each person leave and wish that they could stay longer – it truly was some of the best weeks of my life and that is all because of the people involved at the camp, and just how fun surfing is! Thank you x a million!!

Hostel – I had a private room on the 2nd floor with an AC which is top notch. You can use the yoga space for your own gym or yoga workouts when there are no lessons. Water and coffee are unlimited, kitchen has everything you may wish for your cooking skills. Pool is super and the space around it for socializing and relaxing Staff – is lovely and very helpful. They seem also pretty close with each other ! Food – there is unlimited coffee in the hostel which I find super good as well as filtered water tank. Breakfast is incl in the price Evening activities – surf instructors and the hostel staff that is not in their shift might join the activities which creates a great bonding space to hang out with the locals. Absolutely recommend, we had some karaoke, dances, and beer pong. Yoga – I would suggest to pick the morning yoga as it prepares and tones your body for the surf practice. Fells incredible what your body can do!! As Costa rica is pretty far from Europe I would be able to visit soon, but will try someday again! Amazing feeling of community from the local people and great surf camp from Marcos. You find rare instructors that really care about teaching their students the basis of surfing, and they are hell of a good instructors (also Kevin and Gero!). Sending you all warm hugs

"Great surf camp, recommend it !! :) :)"

Loved the surf camp, all the instructors really get to know your strengths and weaknesses and push you every lesson. I learned a lot and was able to move on to my next destination, rent a board, and practice what I’ve learned feeling confident. I was in a shared room and was comfortable, private with a curtain. Hostel is social with a great pool, I also liked that it was a little walk from the town so was quiet when you wanted to rest, but still close to restaurants and bars. I met so many great people and would definitely want to come back. During my stay there were multiple people who had extended their stay because they didn’t want to leave. Thanks guys!
